Raven, Rook, & Hooded Crow

Big or small, brightly coloured or pastel, solid or full of speckles (and life!), bird eggs have always fascinated me. So, naturally, I wanted to create a few egg-based collages. The antique book shop in Petersfield supplied the plate, and William Harvey’s Exercitationes de Generatione Animalium (1651) helped with the title.

So here it is — the first piece from my Ex Ovo Omnia (from the egg, all) collection.
